Added 12/25/05 - It has been a very long time since I have been able to add any updated information. Much of what we had hoped to do has not happened.
Added 1/23/01 - Praise the Lord for He is good, His faithfulness endures forever. I wanted to publish an update regarding this ministry and what God is doing in us and through us. We have encountered many delays in receiving the funding. We are still convinced that God has given us the vision for ministry we have and that He will provide the funding in His perfect timing. In the meantime, we are trying to be obedient with what we have and serve the Lord faithfully where He has put us.
In our period of "waiting" God has not bee silent. He is constantly refining our vision and preparing us for the work He has called us to do for His glory. He is leading me to seek Him more and more each day and to trust Him for all the wonderful promises He has made in His Word to all believers and in His word to me. Praise the Lord of all creation for He will always do what He says He will do.
Thank you all for your prayers and support. Please continue to pray with us for the fulfillment of the vision God has given us.
On 11/14/00 God gave me this follow-up verse to the poem Near Water's Edge (see below). I pray God blesses you through it as I was blessed.
I've walked through Jordan's river bed now dry by God's own hand.
By faith, I've come this far with God, this is my promised land.
Obedient, I move where God commands me now, to go.
But in the past I've done my will and to the Lord, said, "no."
Through many years of pain and grace my God has taught me well
To trust in Him with all my life--He'll save me without fail.
I try to move when He says go and wait when He says stop.
And work the field--a harvester, in God's salvation crop.
Now in the land God promised me I offer thanks and praise.
My life a living sacrifice, to Him, my hands I raise.
I worship in His presence now and humbly seek His face.
He'll lead me to the next step in my journey, by His grace.
May the Lord pour out His great blessings in your life as your seek Him with all your heart.
Added 8/30/00 -- I have felt for a while that names are extremely important. We have tried to be faithfull to God's direction about this ministry and this WEB site. One problem I have experienced while preparing this WEB site is that we did not have names for all of the different ministries for which we have a vision. I have stated on several occasions that God will give us the names when the time is right. I believe the time is right since we now have names for all of the divisions of Honoring God Ministries. Praise the Lord, I think this is another sign that we are getting much closer to acquiring the property we need and to have all parts of the ministry up and running.
The names we have decided on are:
PATHWAY to Unity -- support network for pastors and other ministers and their families.
May the Lord bless you in His gracious love. Tim
Added 8/6/00 -- Praise the Lord. God is doing many exciting things in this ministry. God has been refining our vision for ministry. Let me share some of the highlights of the last few weeks.
A couple of weeks ago God inspired me to write a poem: Near Water's Edge
Near water's edge I stand and wait, obedient to my Lord.
The next step will bring miracles, according to His word.
I patiently await the sound commanding me to move.
I will step out, though some say, "no," my faith in God to prove.
"The odds are bad." "You cannot win." "Impossible!" they say.
But I know something they forget my Jesus lives today.
For nothing is impossible with Jesus at my side.
And I can do all things through Him; with in Jesus I'll abide.
When Jesus tells me to step out, I'll step without delay.
For Jesus has a miracle in store for me today.
Like Joshua and Israel, I'll move at God's command.
And cross my river Jordan into my promised land.
The next day after this a friend came to visit and gave me a tape of music by a contemporary composer entitled Water's Edge. We felt this was too coincidental to be a coincidence--It had to be a God-incident. God has used that poem to touch the lives of many people in just a few short weeks. The poem is about expecting God's miracles in response to His promises.
I believe this ministry is on the edge of the miracle that will allow us to move into the promised land God has promised us. We are standing at the water's edge.
For a long time now I have felt God was saying that I needed to slow down and wait patiently and be still and know that he is God. That is, until six days ago. On Monday, I woke up feeling God was working in our situation. Joshua and the stories concerning him have been a theme of encouragement and strength for me for a long time. In my daily Bible reading that day I read Joshua 18:3 which says, "So Joshua said to the Israelites: "How long will you wait before you begin to take possession of the land that the Lord, the God of your fathers, has given you?" After this I felt the need to go and "walk and pray" at the facility in Owensboro.
I went to the property in Owensboro with a new friend who I am sure will be part of this ministry. We had a great trip. The Holy Spirit blessed us and His presence was strong. While praying I felt God wanted me to read the poem Near Water's Edge aloud in the chapel of the facility. So, in faith and obedience, I read it aloud. The presence of God swept over me and I knew without a doubt that God is going to provide this property and use it and this ministry to do mighty things through the power of God.
I know that we were standing at Water's Edge, but now we have stepped into the river and God is making it clear that His miracle is happening even now as I type this. We are crossing into our promised land.
Thank you for helping us pray for God's provision for this ministry.
Info about facility we want to purchase in Owensboro, KY
Honoring God Ministries is in the process of acquiring a facility to be the home base for our ministry.
Please help us pray for God's will and provision for this ministry. Even though Satan is trying to keep us from receiving the provision of God we know that God's promises are true. "For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God." (2 Corinthians 1:20 NIV) The battle is already won.
Thank you for standing with us in this spiritual warfare.
The facility we believe God wants us to have was a monastery until about 5 years ago. I first saw the facility 4 years ago and ever since then have had it in my mind. Below are a few pictures of the monastery.
This is the front entrance. The chapel is on the right and off the picture to the left is the rest of the facitlity.
This is a view from inside the Chapel. The door you see is the front entrance. It is just a small chapel but should seat over 100.
This a view of a section of the building. This part of the building will be the kitchen, dining area, several conference rooms, and several bedrooms. The Chapel is to the right.
This is a picture of the dining area. Needs some tables and chairs don't you think? A nice buffet/salad bar will be nice too.
The facility is on a 4 acre plot of land and surrounded by a big wall (at least 10 feet high). This view is of the front gate--just to the right of the tree on the left. The facility itself is off the picture to the left.
This is the kitchen.
I thought these pictures might give you an idea of the facility we think God wants us to have. I would ask you to help us pray about this--for guidance and God's provision.
Thank you and May God bless you richly.
